The closest public restrooms and airco are inside the National Museum. But it's quite a stunt to get to it: everything is blocked off with ribbons and guarded by soldiers (don't even think about taking a photo of them), so that there is no possible deviation from the exact path that has been set out for you.
Once inside, there follows a whole line of procedures -- passport check, baggage check, even a body frisk -- before you reach the vast entrance and can begin the search for a lavatory. Probably the urgency of nature's call colored my perception somewhat ;-)
De dichtstbijzijnde wc en verkoeling is in het nationaal museum, nog een hele tour om daar te komen, alles is hier afgezet met linten, bewaakt door militairen (waag het niet een foto van ze te nemen) zodat je alleen de precieze looproute kunt volgen.
Eenmaal binnen volgt nog een hele rij met paspoortcontrole, tasafgifte, en fouilleren voordat je door de inmense entree op zoek kan naar een toilet. Met hoge nood valt dit waarschijnlijk iets meer op;-)
